Kathleen Claes

Kathleen Claes is a highly experienced nephrologist currently serving as a Clinical Operational Officer and a member of the executive committee at UZ Leuven since August 2002. In addition to this role, Kathleen holds positions as an Executive Board Member at RZ Heilig Hart Tienen and Board Member, as well as President, of the Belgian Society of Nephrology. With a research focus at KU Leuven since 2012, Kathleen is also an Associate Professor of Medicine. Previous contributions include membership on the Drug Reimbursement Committee for the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance from July 2016 to March 2018. Kathleen's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy degree, a Master in Hospital Management and Health Policy, and a Doctor of Medicine in Nephrology, all from KU Leuven, alongside specialized training in rare kidney diseases and genetics from institutions including ERKNet and Harvard Medical School.
