Koen Van Laere currently serves as Chair of the Department of Imaging and Pathology at KU Leuven since August 2024 and has been the Head of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at UZ Leuven since 2002. As an MD PhD and clinical nuclear medicine specialist at UZ Leuven - KU Leuven, Koen Van Laere focuses on clinical brain imaging and conducts research in functional PET imaging in neurology and psychiatry, exploring mechanisms of brain disease and drug development related to biodistribution and occupancy quantification using PET.
