Niels Komen M.d.

Niels Komen, M.D., Ph.D has an extensive work experience in the field of surgery. Niels is currently serving as a Professor Colorectal Surgery at the University of Antwerp since January 2019. Additionally, they hold the position of Deputy Head Department of Abdominal Surgery at UZA since October 2019.

Prior to these roles, Niels has worked as a Surgeon at the Department of Abdominal-, Pediatric- and Reconstructive Surgery, University Hospital of Antwerp starting from November 2015. Niels has also served as a Colorectal surgery resident at UZ Leuven from October 2014 to August 2015.

Niels also worked as a Surgical trainee at UZA from October 2013 to September 2014, at GZA St. Augustinus from October 2011 to September 2013, and at University Hospital Antwerp from October 2010 to September 2011.

Dr. Niels Komen obtained their M.D. degree from the University of Antwerp, where they studied at the Medical School from 1997 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their V.W.O. degree from Jeroen Bosch College from 1991 to 1997. No specific field of study was mentioned for their V.W.O. degree.
