Senior Scientist at Vaccitech

Deepak S. has extensive work experience in various scientific roles. Deepak is currently employed as a Senior Scientist at Vaccitech since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute from January 2013 to April 2022 as a Chemist, where they focused on the design, synthesis, and characterization of imaging probes. Deepak also synthesized hexasaccharide O-antigen of Vibrio Cholerae O139 through retrosynthetic analysis and synthetic strategies.

Before that, Deepak worked at Martek Biosciences Corporation (now DSM Nutritional Products) as a Post-doctoral Research Associate from April 2007 to October 2007. In this role, they focused on the synthesis, isolation, and purification of derivatives of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), particularly DHA and EPA.

Deepak's early career includes being a Research Assistant at American University from February 2007 to April 2007, and a Teaching Assistant at American University from January 2000 to December 2006. As a Teaching Assistant, they taught various chemistry courses and was responsible for grading, quiz preparation, and laboratory experiments.
