Kamyar Zare

Kamyar Zare has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Kamyar has held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Vaiu Global Inc since 2020, where they are responsible for financials and operations. Prior to this, Kamyar worked at UCLA from 2011 to 2020, initially as the Program Director of the Business Transformation Office, overseeing the transition of UCLA's legacy financial system to Oracle Cloud Financials ERP platform. Kamyar then became the Director of Information Technology Services, where they developed a service business for UCLA IT Services and managed the campus data center. From 2006 to 2011, Kamyar worked at UCSF as the Manager of Financial & Administrative Services, handling strategic business plans and financial management. Kamyar also served as the Director (Acting) of Information Technology Services Finance Unit. Earlier in their career, Kamyar worked at IBM, first as a Program Manager for IBM e-Business Hosting and then as a Technical Assistant to the Vice President of IBM Research. Kamyar also worked at IBM Telecom and Media as a Technical Marketing specialist. Prior to joining IBM, Kamyar worked at AT&T (formerly NCR) as a Senior Programmer Analyst, where they developed test automation software and managed software testing.

Kamyar Zare has a strong education background in the field of Electrical Engineering. Kamyar obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University in the years 1984 to 1988. Following this, they pursued further studies in the same field and achieved a Master of Science (M.S.) degree from Stony Brook University between 1988 and 1990. Later, in 2003 to 2004, Kamyar Zare pursued an MBA degree with a specialization in Finance from the University of San Francisco School of Management.
