Romildo Gomes is a seasoned geotechnical geologist with extensive experience at Vale since April 2007. Currently serving as Geólogo Geotécnico since January 2020, responsibilities include overseeing halted pit operations, managing audits from regulatory agencies, and implementing emergency plans at specific mines. Previously, Romildo managed geotechnical operations for active pits and waste rock piles, focusing on project development, geomechanical mapping, and oversight of third-party contractors. As a Mine Geologist, Romildo specialized in planning iron ore extraction in the Quadrilátero Ferrífero region. Earlier roles include geologist positions at CCP Engenharia and Ouro Preto Geologia Ltda, and internships at Granasa Granitos Nacionais Ltda and Golder Associates Brasil Ltda. Romildo holds a Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Mining, and Geotechnics from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais and a Bachelor's in Geology from the same institution, along with a postgraduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering from PUC Minas.
