Rico Young, PMP, has an extensive work experience spanning over 15 years. Rico started their career as a Systems Specialist II at SAIC in 2004, where they were responsible for analyzing and testing various information systems. Rico also completed a technical manual for the Warehouse Inventory Management System application and gathered requirements for NAVSEA On-Site Installation Coordination training.
In 2005, Rico joined KeyLogic Systems, Inc. as a Systems Analyst. Rico supported the development and management of US and NATO defense messaging standards. Rico worked closely with DoD customers, facilitated CCB meetings, and played a key role in the development of XML-based representations of messages.
From 2007 to 2008, Rico worked as a Business Process Analyst at Northrop Grumman Information Technology. In this role, they conducted industry, market, and competitor analysis and performed tradeoff studies for M&A decisions. Rico also developed use cases for knowledge management/social networking capabilities.
In 2008, Rico joined SRA International as a Project Manager. Rico successfully managed the transition of customer and infrastructure systems from existing data centers to new consolidated data centers for the Department of State Data Center Consolidation program. Rico also served as a Jr. Project Manager for the EPA's Superfund Enterprise Management System project, where they were responsible for financial reporting and maintaining project schedules.
From 2011 to 2013, Rico served as a Project Manager at Intercom Federal Systems. Rico'smain responsibility was the Enterprise Services Operations Center Project Management for the Department of State's Eastern Data Center. Rico coordinated physical and virtual installations and decommissions in the data center to ensure smooth operations.
Currently, Rico works as a Project Manager at ValidaTek, Inc. since 2013. Rico is responsible for managing multiple projects directed towards strategic business and organizational objectives for the Department of State's Enterprise System Operation Center (ESOC). This includes coordinating all physical and virtual installations and decommissions in the data center.
Rico Young, PMP, holds an MBA in Business Management from Strayer University-Maryland, which they obtained from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a BBA in Information Systems from Tennessee State University between 1999 and 2003. Rico Young has also acquired several additional certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. Rico obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in February 2014. Additionally, they gained the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice in March 2009.
