Stacie Licon

Stacie Licon, DNP, RN, CNS, ACCNS-P, CPN has a comprehensive and diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Stacie currently holds the position of Director of Acute Care Services at Valley Children's Healthcare since November 2020. Prior to this role, they worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist-Acute Care at the same organization from December 2015 to November 2020. In this role, Stacie functioned as an expert clinician, educator, leader, consultant, and researcher, collaborating with the healthcare team to monitor patient care and improve outcomes.

Before their position as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Stacie served as a Clinical Practice Specialist at Valley Children's Healthcare from July 2012 to December 2015. In this role, they utilized their expertise in nursing and clinical practice to enhance the provision of patient care, support professional practice, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve patient care outcomes.

Stacie's experience also includes working as a Perioperative Education Coordinator in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit of Valley Children's Healthcare from January 2004 to July 2012. In this role, they provided education to nursing and ancillary staff, acted as a consultant to patients and their families, and collaborated with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to identify and implement interventions for pediatric patients' specific needs. Stacie also represented the perioperative department in nursing governance councils.

Prior to their roles in specialty areas, Stacie began their career as a Staff Nurse at Valley Children's Healthcare in May 1996. Stacie worked on a Hematology/Oncology, Endocrinology, and Nephrology acute care unit, coordinating care for pediatric patients. As a Staff Nurse, they performed various responsibilities including administering therapy, maintaining patient treatment records, and consulting with physicians.

In addition to their work at Valley Children's Healthcare, Stacie has held adjunct faculty positions at California State University, Fresno in 2014 and University of Phoenix in 2014. As an Adjunct Faculty member, they facilitated undergraduate nursing classes, focusing on theory-based professional nursing practice and Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring.

Stacie also gained experience as a Staff Nurse at Fresno Surgery Center from January 2002 to January 2004, where they coordinated care for post-surgical adult patients and performed the duties of a Registered Nurse.

Stacie obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from California State University, Fresno in 1996. Stacie then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist from the same university from 2009 to 2011. Recently, they completed their Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at California State University, Fresno from 2017 to 2019. Stacie Licon has also earned various certifications, including Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) from the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board in 2009, Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse (CPON) from the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses in 2001, and Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist, Pediatrics (ACCNS-P) from the AACN (American Association of Critical-Care Nurses) in 2013.
