Cathy Swengrosh

Training Manager at Valley Industries

Cathy was hired as Assistant Training Manager at Valley Industries (VI) in November of 2006. She has over sixty college credit hours a mix of general and social service area classes. She has worked in the disabled field since 1993, previously worked in a day habilitation where she focused on physical, occupational therapies and community integration along with general safety issues, and working with individuals in volunteering in the community. At VI, she was promoted to Training Manager in 2011 where she focuses on pre-employment testing of new hires and their orientation. She also assists existing employees who may have employment related areas they are struggling in such as minor behavior issues, production, time on task, and other training needs. She writes individual support plans for employees while in the training program which sets their goals to accomplish. She manages the training staff (Assist Mgr., 3 supervisors and Cathy) tracking and monitoring their goal achievements, and assisting the workers in becoming successful at Valley Industries. She writes weekly reports on the training employees recording their data towards their goals, while meeting all PLB funding requirements. Cathy assists in grant writing applications, and manages the ISO 9001:2008 training of all VI workers and staff.
