Elie Sawwan

Elie Sawwan serves as the Vice President of HSE & Supply Sustainability at Valmet since September 2025. Previously, Elie held the role of Global Head of HSSEQ, Power-to-X at Topsoe from August 2023 to August 2025, contributing to energy transition technologies. Elie’s extensive experience includes serving as Region EHS Director at GE Vernova and GE Power, where responsibilities spanned across the Middle East, Africa, and India. Prior roles include Corporate HSE Manager at Consolidated Contractors Group and various HSE positions for the British Petroleum-operated South Caucasus and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline projects. Academic qualifications include a B.Sc. in Public Health and Development Sciences and multiple certifications in sustainable development and occupational health and safety.
