Juha Virtanen

Juha Virtanen is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as Chief Engineer and Project Engineering Manager at Valmet since December 2021, where responsibilities include leading mechanical design for marine solutions in the Pulp & Energy business line. Previously, Juha was the Chief Executive Officer and a founding member of Mäntsälän Biovoima Oy from November 2016 to August 2021, overseeing the development of a biogas plant. Juha also worked as a Product Development Engineer at Weckman Steel Oy from 2009 to 2017, focusing on designing tractor trailers and managing risks and customer relations. Additional experience includes a role as Maintenance Manager at JRS PHARMA and an assembly position at Metso Paper Oy. Juha holds a Master's degree in Smart Industries and New Business Concepts from LAB University of Applied Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Lahti University of Applied Sciences.
