Mika Lahtinen

Mika Lahtinen is an accomplished professional in the fields of strategy, research and development, and materials chemistry, currently serving as the Director of Strategy, Processes, and R&D at Valmet since August 2019, where responsibilities include oversight of Valmet's Fabrics Business Unit. Prior to this, Mika held significant roles at Valmet Fabrics, including Director of R&D and Director of Business Development, as well as an Interim VP of R&D at Nynas AB. Experience extends to global technical management and advisory roles in the tyre and rubber industries, with previous positions at Nokian Tyres and Kiilto Oy. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Polymer Technology and Industrial Chemistry and a Doctor of Technology in Materials Chemistry, complemented by early career experience as a Visiting Scientist at the University of Manchester.
