Alexander Rajan

Alexander Rajan has a diverse and extensive work experience in the fields of data science, computational biology, research, and teaching.

Alexander is currently working at Valo as the Director of Data Science and has been in this role since January 2023. Prior to that, they were the Director of Computational Biology at Valo starting from June 2021.

Before joining Valo, Alexander was the Vice President of Computational Biology at Prime Genomics from September 2020 to June 2021.

Alexander also held positions at Quadrant Biosciences Inc, where they served as the Executive Vice President of Research and Computational Biology from November 2019 to April 2020, and as the Vice President of Research & Data Science from October 2017 to November 2019.

Alexander's earlier experiences include working as a Technical Sales Lead at Ripple LLC from June 2016 to February 2017, and pursuing a Computational Neuroscience PhD at the University of Chicago from September 2009 to May 2016.

Alexander also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Coursera in 2014, a Junior Specialist and Teaching Assistant at the Center for Neuroscience, University of California, Davis from April 2006 to September 2008, an Emergency Medical Technician at Onsite Medical Service, Inc in 2007-2008, and a Research Assistant at the MIND Institute at UC Davis Medical Center from July 2004 to September 2005.

Alexander Rajan attended Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, but no specific start or end year is provided. After high school, they went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology from the University of California, Davis, completing their studies from 2002 to 2006. Subsequently, they pursued higher education at the University of Chicago from 2009 to 2016, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computational Neuroscience.
