William Gordon

William Gordon has a diverse work experience spanning over 18 years. William is currently working at Valo as the Senior Director Head of Translational Biology since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Repertoire Immune Medicines, where they held various roles, including Senior Director Translational Research and Development from June 2020 to March 2021, and Director and Project Leader - Translational Sciences and Platform Biology from December 2017 to May 2020.

Before joining Repertoire, William worked at Pfizer, where they held multiple positions. William was a Senior Principal Scientist and Disease Pathogenesis Lead from October 2016 to December 2017. In this role, they were responsible for translational biomarker planning for preclinical programs and engagement with key opinion leaders in the autoimmune space. William also managed project teams and led multi-omic data generation and analysis in human cohorts and model systems.

Prior to that, they served as a Principal Scientist at Pfizer from January 2015 to October 2016, where they managed exploratory biomarker strategies and supported early clinical and late preclinical development. William obtained funding for an inflammatory bowel disease study and generated actionable data from animal and clinical samples. Additionally, they played a key role in introducing new technologies to the Clinical Bioanalytical group.

In their earlier career, William worked as a Senior Scientist at Pfizer from February 2014 to January 2015, where they identified and analyzed RNA-based biomarkers for preclinical and clinical research. William also contributed to the development of RNAseq as a tool for biomarker discovery.

Prior to joining Pfizer, William worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Graduate Student Researcher at UC Irvine from September 2007 to November 2013. Their research focused on the transcriptional and epigenetic regulation of epidermal development and differentiation, as well as the role of developmental transcription factors in mouse and human models of skin pathologies.

Before their academic career, William gained research experience as a Research Technician at the Whitehead Institute/MIT from 2005 to 2007, and at Massachusetts General Hospital from 2003 to 2005.

Overall, William Gordon has extensive experience in translational biology, biomarker discovery, and project management, with a focus on autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

William Gordon earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis from 1999 to 2003. William then pursued further education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biological Chemistry from UC Irvine from 2007 to 2013.
