Jim McCall

Superintendent at Valparaiso Community Schools

Dr. McCall was appointed as superintendent of Valparaiso Community Schools in September 2020 after serving as the district’s assistant superintendent since 2015. He is currently in his 23rd year as a public school educator in Valparaiso having begun his career as an English teacher and coach at VHS in 1999. Dr. McCall received his undergraduate degree in English from Wabash College and a Master’s Degree in English from Purdue University. He went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Ball State University and completed his doctoral work in Educational Leadership at Purdue University.

In addition to his career as an educator, he is an active member of the Valparaiso community and serves on the board of the Valpo Parks Foundation. He is a lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana. He and his wife, Leslie, have two children, Shannon and Connor, who are both products of Valparaiso Community Schools.
