Joseph Wells

Joseph Wells is an experienced law enforcement professional and educator with a diverse background in policing and sports announcing. Currently serving as a Police Officer at Valparaiso University since May 2023, Joseph has cultivated significant work relationships throughout a lengthy career in various police departments, including a fulfilling tenure with the Town of Munster Police Department, where mentoring new officers as a Field Training Officer was a highlight. Beyond law enforcement, Joseph has been involved as a Football Official for the NCAA since 2018 and operates the Midwest Law Enforcement Training Institute, offering instruction to fellow officers since 2007. With a strong foundation in broadcasting established through multiple roles in radio and television, including as the Morning News Director and Sports Director early in the career, Joseph holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from Calumet College of St. Joseph.
