Ben Yamagata

Ben Yamagata is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in federal legislative and administrative issues related to energy, environment, and natural resources. Serving as a Partner at Van Ness Feldman since January 1979, Yamagata represents clients before various governmental bodies, providing expertise in technology research and development concerning coal and renewable energy resources. In addition, Yamagata held the position of Executive Director at the Coal Utilization Research Council from January 1998 to January 2016, leading a diverse industry group focused on coal utilization. Earlier in their career, Yamagata worked in various capacities for the United States Senate, including Counsel and Staff Director for the Subcommittee on Energy Research and Development and Legislative Counsel to Senator Frank Church. Yamagata holds degrees from Harvard University and The George Washington University Law School.
