Ronald Root

Ronald Root is a seasoned professional in Data and Analytics, currently serving as the Head of Data and Analytics at Van Oord since May 2022, where the focus is on integrating Data, Analytics, and AI into the company’s core strategy and driving data governance initiatives. Prior to this, Ronald held various roles at Eneco Groep from September 2015 to June 2022, including Manager of the Data Analytics and AI Center of Excellence, where responsibilities included leading teams in Data Science and driving the implementation of analytics capabilities. Additional positions at Eneco included roles in Data Science, Business Innovation, and as a Senior Information Consultant at Eneco Energy Trade B.V., where Ronald facilitated the intersection of trading and IT. Earlier career experiences with GEN Deutschland GmbH and GEN Nederland involved leading consultancy efforts in data management and forecasting within the energy sector. Ronald holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bio Medical Engineering, and Mechatronics from Delft University of Technology, earned between 2000 and 2008.
