Robert Penfield

Robert Penfield, PE, DBIA, ENV-SP serves as Principal and Regional Operations Manager for Southern New England at VHB, overseeing nearly 100 engineers and designers in delivering complex public transportation projects for agencies such as MassDOT and MBTA. With extensive experience in structural engineering, Robert has held various roles, including Managing Director of Highway & Structures and Director of Structures, providing leadership in large-scale infrastructure projects and innovative construction techniques. Prior roles include Structural Engineer at McBrie, LLC, and Structural Co-op at Bayside Engineering, contributing to diverse design projects and CAD standards development. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology and is a registered Structural Engineer in multiple states.
