David Farr

David Farr is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in corporate IT platforms and applications. Currently serving as Director of Engineering at Vancity since April 2025, David oversees systems that support HR, Finance, and Marketing functions. Prior roles include Director of Engineering at Sun Life, where strategic planning for global finance applications was a key focus, and Director of Software Engineering at Manulife, contributing to a major project migrating claims processing systems. David also has a solid background in operations and development management with Data Manager Limited, and experience in IT operations and disaster recovery from previous positions at Economical Insurance and OpenText. David holds a Master of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology, and a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.
