Curtis McDonald

Board Director at Vancouver Clinic

Dr. Curtis McDonald believes parents know their children better than anyone. As a pediatrician, his goal is to empower moms and dads with information so that they can make the best choices for their families. He loves making kids laugh and smile and helps each visit feel comfortable and positive. Dr. McDonald wants kids to look forward to coming to the clinic—even for routine check-ups and vaccines.

Dr. McDonald is particularly interested in child development and behavior. He enjoys sharing parenting tips and tricks that can make everyday life a little smoother. Because raising kids is hard and joyful work, he believes in joining together with families to navigate challenges and celebrate successes. He finds that watching children grow and develop into remarkable people is the most rewarding part of being a pediatrician.

Dr. McDonald earned a doctor of medicine from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. He completed his residency at Levine Children’s Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. McDonald also earned a bachelor of arts in music from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida, and worked as a music director for several years.

Prior to joining the clinic, Dr. McDonald was a major in the U.S. Air Force and served as a pediatrician and medical director for the 78th Medical Group at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia. He also taught medical students at the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia, and the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He is board certified in pediatrics.

Dr. McDonald has been privileged to share his expertise with underserved populations. He’s helped coordinate annual medical mission trips to Jeremie, Haiti, and participates in an annual lecture circuit on leadership for university students in China. He and his wife Rebecca have four children. Away from work he enjoys singing, hiking, camping, kayaking, and traveling.
