Rebecca Birenbaum

Chief Operating Officer Rebecca Birenbaum is an attorney with a master of business administration in human resource management and more than 15 years of human resources experience. In her time at Vancouver Clinic, she has supported employee retention and morale during significant organizational growth and change. She is a dynamic leader with a strategic mind and a high bar for excellence.

Rebecca believes that problems are best solved by engaging the staff and providers doing the work. She considers the concepts of lean transformation and servant leadership to be vital to the clinic’s continuous growth and improvement.

Prior to working at Vancouver Clinic, Rebecca was the chief compliance and administrative officer for Central City Concern, a $70 million, 501(c)(3) nonprofit with more than 750 employees. Central City Concern provides services in primary care, mental health, employment, and housing, offering a robust solution for people battling homelessness and addictions. Rebecca’s work with Central City Concern gave her unique insight into the particular challenges health care organizations face.

In addition to her master’s from American University’s Kogod School of Business, Rebecca holds a juris doctor from Lewis & Clark College.

Outside of work, Rebecca likes to cook, enjoy the outdoors, garden, and spend time with her husband and daughter.
