John McLaughlin has a long career in finance in both the private and non-profit sector. Most recently John served as Chief Financial Officer of the Concert Properties group of companies from 2011 to 2020. From 2003 to 2011 he served as CFO of the corporation established for the Vancouver bid for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games, then continuing on as the Executive Vice President and CFO for VANOC, the organizing committee of the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Over the last 16 months John has been a member of the Immunize BC COVID Vaccination Program team, assisting with the coordination of the province wide vaccine program. Over his career he has been involved in a number of key initiatives in BC involving the economic, cultural and sport sectors – these included EXPO 86, MUSIC 91 and the 1994 Commonwealth Games. John has also been active as a governor in the non-profit sector as a board member of Decoda Literacy Solutions, Sport B.C., North Vancouver B.C. Winter Games and the Black Tusk Nordic Event Society. John is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a graduate of Queen's University. He was awarded an FCPA designation as a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants in 2010 and became a Member of the Olympic Order in 2010. John was awarded Business in Vancouver's CFO of the Year (Large Private Companies) in 2019.
