Michelle de Moor

VP, Vancouver Acute at Vancouver Coastal Health

As Vice President for Vancouver Acute Services and Executive Director, Clinical and Systems Transformation (CST) for VCH-Vancouver, Michelle leads a large, complex portfolio, which includes Vancouver General Hospital (VGH), UBC Hospital and GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre.

A physiotherapist by profession, Michelle brings more than 25 years of clinical operations and leadership experience to her roles. Beginning her career at VCH, Michelle's leadership roles have spanned acute and ambulatory care, acute rehabilitation, emergency, critical care and volunteer services; and she has held leadership roles in multiple BC health authorities.

Michelle holds a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University. She is a Certified Health Executive (CHE), with the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) and has served on the CCHL's BC Lower Mainland Chapter Executive.

Michelle's keen interest in systems-thinking, passionate commitment to the delivery of high-quality patient care, as well as her strong team-building and facilitation skills are well-known. Her ability to inspire the best in others embodies our core values of caring for everyone, life-long learning and striving for better results and has led to multiple awards for her teams including: a Health Employers Association of British Columbia (HEABC) Award of Merit in Collaborative Solutions; a VCH People First Award for Excellence in Teamwork and Collaboration, and an HEABC Gold Apple Award for Workplace Health Innovation.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with family and her two goofy dogs, and taking advantage of any opportunity to be on a bicycle.
