Prakash Sundaramurthi

Prakash Sundaramurthi is an experienced pharmaceutical professional currently serving as Vice President and Head of CMC at Vanda Pharmaceuticals since March 2025. Prior to this role, Prakash held the position of Executive Director of Sterile Drug Products CMC at Marinus Pharma from November 2021 to December 2024. Prakash's career includes significant roles at Merck, where responsibilities included Director and Associate Director positions, and at Teva Pharmaceuticals, serving as Senior Manager for Global Biologics CMC, Principal Scientist, and Senior Scientist. Prakash began the professional journey as a Junior Scientist at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories from 2002 to 2005. Prakash's expertise encompasses preformulation profiling of new chemical entities for IND filing, prototype formulation development, and optimization of lead molecules based on biopharmaceutical properties. Prakash earned a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Minnesota.
