Charles Tilton

Associate Director IT Support Services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Charles Tilton has a range of work experience, starting in 2002 with the TNARNG as the Commander of the 45th Civil Support Team. Charles Tilton successfully selected and led a team specializing in the identification of unknown Chem, Bio, Rad products. Charles Tilton obtained national-level certification in a shorter time than previously required.

In 2011, they joined the Army National Guard as the Military Director of Strategic Plans, followed by the role of Military Director of Personnel (G1) in 2012. From 2013 to 2016, they served as the Commanding Officer of a training institution, demonstrating effective leadership and a process improvement mindset.

In 2016, Charles transitioned to Vanderbilt University Medical Center as the Principal. Charles Tilton later became the IT Manager and then the Associate Director of IT Support Services, overseeing various IT functions supporting over 25,000 employees. Charles Tilton managed a team of professionals specializing in clinical applications support, print management, regional IT relations, and overall program management.

Charles Tilton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Government from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), which they obtained from 1983 to 1987. Charles Tilton furthered their education by pursuing a Master's degree in National Security Policy Studies at the US Army War College from 2008 to 2009. Additionally, during the same time frame, they completed a Master of Arts degree in National Security Policy at the Resident US Army War College.
