Behnam Ghalei

Principal Scientist at Vandstrom

Behnam Ghalei is a highly experienced scientist currently serving as Principal Scientist at Vandstrom since January 2023, where leadership of a membrane R&D team focuses on the development of polymeric and biomimetic membranes for protein purification and water treatment. Previously, Behnam held the position of Associate Professor at iCeMS, Kyoto University, from May 2019 to January 2023, leading research in molecular sieving nanoarchitecture. Additional roles include Assistant Professor at the same institution, where project leadership in membrane technology for clean combustion engines was undertaken, and a postdoctoral research associate specializing in nano featured membranes. Earlier experience includes teaching positions at Islamic Azad University and Kanoon Farhangi Amoozesh Ghalamchi, technical leadership at Arna Co., and R&D engineering at SAPCO. Behnam holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Polymer Engineering from Tarbiat Modares University and additional degrees in the same field.
