Diane Younker

Associate Director, Study Start-up at Vanguard Clinical

Diane Younker has over 18 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Diane began their career in 2002 as Laboratory Manager at EMSL Analytical, Inc. In 2004, they moved to Lockheed Martin as a Scientist in Biomedical Hardware Development at the NASA Johnson Space Center. Diane then joined Barrios Technology, LTD in 2005 as a Project Manager in Biomedical Hardware Development at the NASA Johnson Space Center. Later that year, they took on the role of Global Regulatory Affairs Manager at CELSIS INTERNATIONAL LIMITED. In 2007, they joined Wyle as a Portfolio Science Coordinator in the NASA Human Research Program. Diane then moved to Baylor College of Medicine in 2014 as a Project Manager in the Office of Clinical Research. In 2018, they became a Sr. Contract Specialist at MedSource (now Ergomed), where they drafted client and vendor task orders and change orders, prepared specifications and requested bids from vendors, and researched business development and proposal lead requests. Diane also held a role as Research Analyst and Contract Drafter for a self-employed entrepreneur. In 2021, they joined ERGOMED as a Site Contracts Manager, where they developed site budget templates, proposed negotiation strategies and maximum costs/fees for use during budget negotiations, and negotiated budgets with sites. Currently, they are an Associate Director at Vanguard Clinical, Inc., where they collaborate with the operations team to facilitate cross-functional team and client communications, adheres to budget targets and agreed payment timelines, and maintains expertise in country-based regulations, laws, and procedures.

Diane Younker obtained a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the Medical College of Ohio in 1998, a B.A. in Biology from The University of Toledo in 1993, and graduated from Margaretta HS.
