Brenda K. Foster

Brenda K. Foster, MPA, serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief of Innovation at Vanguard Communications, where strategic direction and business planning are provided to support non-profit and governmental clients. As an Adjunct Professorial Lecturer at American University, Brenda instructs graduate courses in communications and mentors capstone projects. Co-founding the Progressive Communicators of Washington, DC, Brenda fosters collaboration among communicators committed to progressive causes. Additional roles include being a Board Member for Sound Mind Live, advocating for mental health awareness, and serving as the School Board Chair for Manassas Park City Schools, overseeing a $41 million budget and implementing innovative educational policies. Brenda also contributed to the Governor's School @Innovation Park and previously worked in public relations and broadcasting. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Administration from George Mason University and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Journalism from Penn State University.
