Ashton Baker

Ashton Baker has over seven years of work experience. In 2012, Ashton began working as an Advanced Math Tutor at Grand Valley State University, where they provided walk-in tutoring for students in all math classes. In 2014, Ashton took an Intern role at Grand Rapids Metrology, where they worked with technicians and management to ease the transition to a digital records system. In 2016, Ashton began working as a Research Assistant at King Laboratory - University of Michigan, where they used R and C to build Markov models to describe insect population dynamics. In 2018, Ashton took on two roles: Software Engineer at NetWorks Group and Software Engineer at IHS Markit, where they developed full-stack web applications using Java and AngularJS and worked as part of a team to replace legacy software to manage automotive recalls. In 2019, Ashton became a Software Engineer at Blumira. Most recently, in 2023, Ashton began working as a Senior Software Engineer, Backend at Vannevar Labs.

Ashton Baker obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mathematics from Grand Valley State University between 2010 and 2014. Ashton then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Michigan, which they completed between 2015 and 2017. Prior to this, they attended Bay City Central High School between 2006 and 2010.
