Vanqua Bio
Sida Shen has worked for four different companies since 2013. Sida started their career as a Project Lead for Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. in 2013. Sida then moved on to become a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2015. In 2017, they took on the role of Research Associate at Northwestern University. Currently, they are a Senior Scientist II and Senior Scientist I at Vanqua Bio since 2021.
Sida Shen received a Bachelor degree in Pharmaceutics from East China University of Science and Technology in 2008. From 2008 to 2013, they pursued a Ph.D in Medicinal Chemistry at the same institution. During this time, they also completed a Visiting PhD in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica.

We leverage novel, proprietary research tools and in vitro modeling of disease, based on patient-derived neuronal cells, to develop transformative therapies that slow or stop the progression of Parkinson’s disease (PD), Alzheimer’s disease (AD), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and Gaucher disease (GD).
