James Marver is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of VantagePoint Venture Partners, a position they have held since 1996. Prior to that, they were a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns from 1988 to 1996. James also served as a Senior Managing Director at LF Rothschild Unterberg Towbin from 1982 to 1988 and an Associate at Goldman Sachs from 1980 to 1982. Earlier in their career, James worked as a Senior Consultant at SRI International (Stanford Research Institute) from 1976 to 1980.

James Marver has a BA degree from Williams College and a PhD degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
