Alex Goncearenco

Alexander Goncearenco is a seasoned expert in computational biology with extensive experience in machine learning-driven drug discovery and cancer genomics. Currently serving as Sr Principal and Director at VantAI since June 2020, Alexander has previously held significant roles at the National Human Genome Research Institute and the National Center for Biotechnology Information, where contributions included developing computational techniques for cancer detection and analysis of mutational signatures. Alexander's academic foundation includes a PhD in Computational Biology from the University of Bergen and master’s degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Bioinformatics, as well as Computer Science, with additional experience in teaching applied machine learning.
