Head Of Research And Development at Varda Space Industries

Andrew McCalip has extensive work experience in research and development, engineering, and robotics. Andrew is currently the Head of Research and Development at Varda Space Industries. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Engineer at GE Renewable Energy from 2019 to 2021. Andrew also co-founded and served as the CTO of Cosine Additive, where they developed large-scale customized robotic platforms and led the new technologies team. Andrew was a Lead Engineer at Masson Development, where they created structure for a scalable engineering department. Andrew also worked as an R&D Test Engineer at Bray Controls and an R&D Engineer at Stewart Automotive Research. Andrew completed an internship as a Structure Group Design Engineer at SpaceX and worked as a CNC Programmer/Machinist at Penoy CNC Works. Andrew also had an engineering internship at Millar Instruments, Inc.

From 2007 to 2011, Andrew McCalip attended Texas A&M University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
