Philip Lundeen has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and development. Philip started their career at BorgWarner Turbo Systems, Inc. in 2007 as a Controls Engineer, where they developed LabVIEW applications for R&D lab testing of Turbochargers. Philip then joined SpaceX in 2010 and held various roles including Mission Operations Software Engineer, Sr. Ground Software Engineer, and Principal Ground Software Engineer. Philip primarily worked on LabVIEW software development for controlling launch vehicles, support equipment, and spacecraft monitoring. Philip also contributed to C++ software development for autonomous spacecraft systems and Python scripting for automated testing. In 2020, Lundeen joined TAE Technologies, Inc. as a Senior LabVIEW Developer, focusing on software development for control and network communication, user interfaces, and remote system deployment and monitoring. Philip then joined Rivian in 2021 as a Staff Test Automation Systems Architect. Currently, they are working at Varda Space Industries as a Principal Mission Software Engineer from May 2023 onwards.
Philip Lundeen earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Applied Physics from Appalachian State University, which they attended from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physics from Guilford College, attending from 1999 to 2003. In addition to their degrees, Lundeen also obtained a certification as a Certified LabVIEW Architect from the National Instruments in January 2014.
