Perttu Niemelä

Perttu Niemelä is a seasoned software systems architect and senior research scientist at Varian Medical Systems since January 2010, where professional roles have included research scientist. Formerly, Perttu Niemelä worked at VTT Technical Research Center of Finland as a researcher from August 2008 to January 2010. Prior experience includes a post-doctoral fellowship focusing on computational modeling of lipid bilayers at Helsinki University of Technology from January 2003 to July 2008 and a role as a visiting scientist in the BIOCOMPUTING group at the University of Calgary from November 2005 to May 2006. Perttu Niemelä began the professional journey as a trainee at Huntsman Polyurethanes in June 2001. Perttu Niemelä holds a D.Sc. (Tech) in computational physics and biological physics from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan, as well as an M.Sc. in physics with a specialization in biophysics from the University of Oulu, complemented by an exchange program at Technische Universität Wien.
