Clinical Variant Scientist at Variantyx

Aviya Oz has diverse work experience in the field of genetics and genetic counseling. Aviya began their career in 2014 as a Genetics Counselor at The Genetic Institute, Rabin Medical Center, Beilinson Hospital, where they gained clinical experience in genetic counseling and worked with patients of all age groups and ethnic backgrounds common in Israel. Aviya also supervised prenatal and postnatal molecular diagnosis tests, with a specialization in prenatal and cancer genetics. In addition, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at Hadassah Academic College from February 2015 to June 2016. Currently, they serve as a Clinical Variant Scientist at Variantyx since January 2021.

Aviya Oz pursued their education at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev from 2009 to 2011. During this period, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with a focus on Biology. Afterward, from 2014 to 2016, they attended The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Genetic Counseling/Counselor.
