Ferhat Sen

Ferhat Sen has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Ferhat is currently serving as the Director of XR Technology Solutions at Varjo, where they started in 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Solutions Architect at Varjo from 2021 to 2022.

Before joining Varjo, Ferhat held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Stereoscape from 2016 to 2021. Here, they played a significant role in managing the company's technology-related functions.

Ferhat's earlier work experience includes serving as a Lead Designer at İpek Üniversitesi from 2013 to 2016, where they led the co-design process for educational and commercial production facilities across different departments. Ferhat also established various national and international collaborations during their time there.

Ferhat worked as a Lecturer at Istanbul Ayvansaray University from 2012 to 2013, where they shared their knowledge and expertise with students.

Ferhat also gained valuable experience as a Designer Researcher at Aalto University, Media Lab from 2010 to 2012. During this time, they designed and developed numerous projects integrating design and technology, including virtual reality experiences and interactive installations. Ferhat also proposed and taught a hands-on course in their field.

In the early stages of their career, Ferhat worked as a Teaching Assistant at Sabanci University from 2006 to 2008. Ferhat facilitated various courses in the Visual Communication Design Department and contributed to the establishment of the Interaction Lab. Additionally, they received international awards for their master's thesis film.

Furthermore, Ferhat had a role as a Designer and Developer at Hayaliihracat from 1999 to 2006. Ferhat'sresponsibilities included designing websites as well as creating user interfaces for custom software applications.

Ferhat Sen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Boğaziçi University, which they obtained from 2002 to 2006. Ferhat then pursued a Master of Arts in Visual Communication Design at Sabanci University from 2006 to 2008. In 2008, they obtained a certificate in Cinematography and Film/Video Production from UCLA. Currently, Ferhat is working towards a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Interactive Media Design at Aalto University, which they are expected to complete in 2024.
