May O'Neal

May O'Neal is the current Chief People Officer at Varo Bank. Prior to this, they spent 11 years at WageWorks, where they served as Chief People Officer. During their time at WageWorks, they were instrumental in the public offering for the company as a member of the executive leadership team. May also contributed strategic leadership for several acquisitions and integrations.

O'Neal is known for their ability to hire and motivate top-performing teams. May achieved a Net Promoter Score of 82 vs. the industry standard of 50 in rolling out a leadership approach. May also designed a succession planning process to ensure bench strength for key positions. In addition, they improved efficiency in the hiring process by 20% through using a value stream mapping methodology.

O'Neal is also credited with bringing structure and discipline to the Learning & Development process at WageWorks. May facilitated the transition of all learning resources to a single organization.

May O'Neal reports to Colin Walsh, CEO & Co-Founder. They are on a team with Shishir Singhania - Chief Lending Officer, Carolyn Feinstein - Chief Marketing Officer, and Philippa Girling - Chief Risk Officer.
