David Caponio

David Caponio has over 20 years of work experience, with a strong background in product and business development in the aerospace industry. David is currently the Senior Vice President of Product and Business Development at VAST since February 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Product and Business Development at Launcher from July 2021. Before transitioning to the private sector, David spent several years in the United States Air Force, where they held various roles, including Senior IMA to the Chief Engineer and Development Engineer. David also worked at Emolbi as a Sr Acquisitions Manager from July 2020 to July 2021. David has significant experience in mission management, having worked at Virgin Orbit as a Senior Mission Manager and at Space Exploration Technologies as a Mission Manager. Additionally, they held the position of Vice President, Commercial Space and Launch at Tyvak Nanosatellite Systems, Inc. from October 2018 to April 2020.

David Caponio attended the United States Air Force Academy from 1998 to 2002, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. David then pursued further education at the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology from 2004 to 2006, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Systems Engineering.
