Louis Zhang has over 20 years of work experience in the technology industry. Louis started their career in 1997 as an ASIC Designer for HP, where they worked on digital camera and imaging ASICs. In 1999, they were Lead Systems and ASIC Architect for AcceLight Networks. In 2003, they moved to M3 Technologies Inc. as Chief Multimedia ASIC Architect. In 2004, they joined AMD as an ASIC Architect and was promoted to AMD Fellow in 2013. At AMD, they served as the highest technical leader in video and was also AMD's Fellow-level AI architect. In 2018, they co-founded Vastai Technologies, where they currently serve as CTO and Chief Architect.
Louis Zhang obtained their Master of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1999. Prior to this, they obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 1997.
