Barry Bloom

Barry Bloom served as Dean of the Harvard School of Public Health from 1998 to 2008 and is currently Distinguished Service Professor and Joan L. and Julius H. Jacobson Professor of Public Health at Harvard. A leader in the areas of infectious disease, vaccines, and global health, Dr. Bloom has been extensively involved with the World Health Organization for over 40 years and has consulted for the White House on international health policy. He is principal investigator of a laboratory researching the immune response to tuberculosis and serves on numerous boards and advisory committees.
