Elaine Morefield

Elaine Morefield is an experienced professional in pharmaceutical development and regulatory affairs, currently serving as Director of Product Quality at Aclaris Therapeutics, Inc. since May 2018 and holding the position of Vice President at VaxForm since September 2015, where Consultant work in CMC regulatory applications, compliance, and product development is undertaken. Previously, Elaine held significant roles including Senior Director of CMC Strategy at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where involvement in quality by design and continuous manufacturing was pivotal, and served as Deputy Office Director for Review and Administration at the FDA, managing CMC review divisions. Earlier career experiences include leadership positions at DSM Pharmaceuticals, Chattem, Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, Schering-Plough, and SC Johnson. Elaine earned a Ph.D. in Industrial and Physical Pharmacy and Cosmetic Sciences from Purdue University, complemented by a B.S. in Pharmacy from the same institution.
