Samara Eaton

Associate Principal Medical Engineer at Vaxxas

Samara Eaton has a diverse work experience in the field of medical device engineering and research. Samara started their career as a Research Intern at École Polytechnique de Montréal, where they worked on the design and fabrication of an orthosis prototype for walking gait. Samara then gained further research experience as part of the Vacation Research Experience Scheme at QUT, where they focused on tissue-engineered vascular grafts manufactured with Melt Electrowriting. Afterwards, they joined Vaxxas as a Student Medical Device Engineer, contributing to the development of a needle-free vaccine delivery platform. Samara later advanced to the role of Medical Device Engineer at Vaxxas, where they continued to work on the company's innovative technology. Currently, Samara holds the role of Senior Medical Device Engineer at Vaxxas, taking a leadership position in the development of the vaccine delivery platform.

Samara Eaton earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from QUT (Queensland University of Technology) from 2014 to 2019. In 2017, they also studied at Edinburgh Napier University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Sports and Exercise Science. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at St Rita's College, Clayfield from 2009 to 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Samara Eaton has obtained several certifications. In 2019, they received Qualification and Validation Training from PharmOut. Samara also completed Approved Arrangements for Accredited Persons (Classes 1 to 8) training from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources in November 2019. In 2021, they underwent Audit Preparation Training from PharmOut. Most recently, in May 2022, they completed ANZCCART ComPass Animal Welfare Training from the University of Adelaide.
