Angela Evans

Angela Evans has extensive work experience in the field of behavioral health and utilization management. Angela currently serves as the Director of Behavioral Health Utilization Management at Vaya Health since July 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Manager of IDD Utilization Management at the same organization from April 2022 to July 2023.

Before joining Vaya Health, Angela worked at Cardinal Innovations Healthcare from February 2015 to April 2022. Angela held the positions of Utilization Management Development Supervisor from January 2018 to April 2022, and Utilization Management Supervisor from February 2015 to March 2022.

Angela's earlier experience includes working as a Clinical Evaluations Specialist at Support, Inc from September 2012 to February 2014, and as a Clinician at Asheboro Behavioral Medicine from March 2012 to September 2012.

Angela also worked as a Human Services Clinician at Nursefinders from December 2011 to March 2012, and as an Adult Clinician at Jessamine Counseling Center of Bluegrass Mental Health Mental Retardation Board from August 2009 to July 2011. At Jessamine Counseling Center, Angela maintained a case load of approximately 100 adult clients and provided individual and group counseling for a range of mental health issues and substance abuse.

Angela's previous roles also include working as a Contractor at Batterer's Intervention Provider from January 2009 to June 2011, where they evaluated clients and facilitated psychoeducational classes on domestic violence and substance abuse relapse prevention.

Angela started their career as a Mental Health Associate and Support Coordinator at Connections, Inc. of Bluegrass Mental Health Mental Retardation Board from June 2004 to August 2009. In this role, they coordinated support services for individuals with mental retardation/developmental disabilities and worked closely with healthcare professionals.

Angela also gained valuable experience as an Intern Clinician at Fayette County Detention Center from January 2009 to May 2009, where they provided mental health assessments and crisis counseling to incarcerated individuals.

Furthermore, they served as a Practicum Clinician at Eastern Kentucky University Psychology Clinic from December 2007 to December 2008.

Throughout their career, Angela has acquired robust skills in behavioral health, utilization management, counseling, assessment, crisis intervention, and coordination of support services.

Angela Evans obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Berea College in 2004. Angela then pursued further education and completed a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University between 2007 and 2009. It is also worth noting that they previously obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Berea College, although the specific duration of this degree is not provided.
