Zhang Yu

Zhang Yu serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at Vcanbio Cell & Gene Engineering Corporation since May 2020, following a tenure as President and CEO of Aeon Therapeutics Co., Ltd. from March 2017 to April 2020. Zhang's previous roles encompass assistant president at Vcanbio from January 2015 to February 2017, member of the board at Rhine Academic Forum e.V. from December 2013 to December 2014, and PhD research fellow at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg and DLR from September 2010 to July 2014. Academic experience includes visiting research scholar roles at Università degli studi di Palermo and an internship at Xiaogan Central Hospital. Zhang holds a PhD in Pharmacology and Medical Chemistry from the University of Düsseldorf and multiple degrees in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Beihang University.
