Ashanta Boarden

Ashanta Boarden, MPA, serves as the Human Resources Director at VCU Health since June 2022 and has held the position of Human Resources Business Partner at Michigan Medicine since 2002. At Michigan Medicine, Ashanta manages a team of three to five employees, overseeing daily HR functions for over 2,000 staff across various business units, including MedSport, Orthopedic Surgery, Radiology, and Urology. Responsibilities include managing leave of absence requests, talent acquisition, compensation administration, conducting new hire orientations, and ensuring compliance with employment law regulations. Ashanta holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Eastern Michigan University, obtained in 2008, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration from the same institution, earned in 2002.
