Steven Smith

Steven Christopher Smith currently serves as the Director of the Pathology Residency Training Program and Associate Professor of Pathology and Surgery at VCU Health since July 2014. With a focus on genitourinary and soft tissue pathology, Steven has built a distinguished career in surgical pathology. In addition, Steven holds the position of Assistant Professor at VCU Massey Cancer Center since October 2022 and has previously completed a fellowship in Genitourinary Pathology at Cedars-Sinai. Steven's training included a residency in Anatomic Pathology at the University of Michigan. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. and M.D. from the University of Virginia, alongside a Master’s Degree in Biological and Physical Sciences from the same institution, and a Bachelor's Degree in Genetics and Biology from The University of Georgia.
