Virgil Phillips Jr.

Virgil Phillips Jr., Ph.D., serves as the Supervisor of Community Health at VCU Health, overseeing a team of 15 Community Health Workers across multiple sites, while also managing programs related to community health initiatives, including the Food is Medicine initiative and Social Drivers of Health projects. With experience as a Program Manager and Project Coordinator, Virgil has demonstrated expertise in supervising undergraduate students and enhancing healthcare access. In addition to current roles, Virgil is the President of Lessons for Life, focusing on grant identification, community engagement, and educational initiatives for middle and high school students. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Liberty University, an MBA from Capella University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration from James Madison University.
