Wouter Vijselaar

Wouter Vijselaar has a diverse and extensive work experience. Wouter has worked as a Lead Engineer Lithography at Veco Precision since 2021, where they innovate to meet the highest quality and precision standards in lithography. Prior to this, they worked as a Research and Development Scientist at Veco Precision.

Before joining Veco, Wouter worked at Teijin Aramid from 2020 to 2021, focusing on new product development for Aramid fibers. Wouter played a crucial role in researching and implementing these fibers in various applications to potentially replace steel in many products.

From 2018 to 2020, Wouter served as a Functional Design Engineer at ASML, where they designed and shaped metrology processes for the lithography systems. Wouter was responsible for ensuring the exceptional combination of speed and accuracy in shrinking integrated circuits.

Prior to their role at ASML, Wouter worked at Universiteit Twente as a Postdoctoral Researcher and a PHD Candidate. Wouter'sresearch focused on water splitting using earth-abundant materials and developing membrane architectures combining gas separation with proton conduction using silicon microwires.

Wouter also has experience outside the field of engineering. Wouter worked as a Chauffeur for two different companies, SCC Comfort and Pantarij Chauffeursdiensten BV, where they served high-profile clients such as executives and government officials. Additionally, they worked as a Skipper in Lefkada, Greece, where they were responsible for the maintenance of sailing yachts and leading a team of shipmasters.

In 2011, Wouter briefly served as a Junior Researcher at UCLA, where they studied and incorporated new self-assembled monolayers on gold in various research areas.

Wouter Vijselaar completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Nanotechnology from the University of Twente, which they pursued from 2014 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc/Ir) degree in Chemical Engineering from the same university between 2010 and 2013. Wouter began their academic journey at the University of Twente in 2007, where they earned their Bachelor's degree in Advanced Technology. Before entering university, they completed their high school education at C.S.G Dingstede College in Meppel from 2003 to 2006. Additionally, Wouter completed their preparatory education for university at Markehage College in Breda from 2000 to 2003.
